One Month Thailand Itinerary

How I spent a full month in Thailand

Thailand

Koh Samui – 3 days

I recommend making Koh Samui your very first stop. It’s the easiest gateway to the Gulf, offering a smooth transition into island life. Spend three days here finding your tropical legs, enjoying the great food, and soaking up the upscale island vibes before the real hopping begins. For a full Koh Samui itinerary, click right here.

Koh Phangan – 4 days

Hop on a quick ferry from Koh Samui to arrive at this diverse island. While it’s famous for festivals, I suggest staying for four days to see its quieter side. My personal favorite area is the Northwest—it’s home to the best beaches and a much more relaxed, soulful atmosphere. Check out my full Koh Phangan itinerary right here.

Koh Tao – 7 days

This was easily the highlight of my entire trip. Take another ferry north to Koh Tao, the island that stole my heart. I’d recommend staying at least a full week here. Whether you’re getting SCUBA certified or just enjoying the laid-back cove culture, this was my absolute favorite spot in all of Thailand. For more information on Koh Tao, click here!

Khao Sok – 2 days

To get here, take the ferry from Koh Tao to Surat Thani, followed by a van to Khao Sok. Spend your first night in the village, then head out the next morning for the highlight: the over-water bungalows on Cheow Lan Lake. It’s a breathtaking, “bucket-list” experience you can’t skip. For more information on what to pack, click here.

Chang Mai – 7 days

Fly from Surat Thani up to Chiang Mai for a complete change of scenery. You’ll want a full week here—the city is packed with endless activities, from world-class night markets and cooking classes to mountain adventures. There is truly never a dull moment in the North. Pai – 4 days

Take a van from Chiang Mai through the winding mountain roads to reach the quirky town of Pai. Give yourself four days here to slow down, rent a scooter, and just enjoy the magic of the mountains. It’s the ultimate place to decompress and enjoy the “slow life.” Click here for more information on Pai.

Bangkok – 4 days

To wrap up your month in Thailand, take an overnight bus or train from the mountains down to the capital. Spend your final four days immersed in the high-energy chaos of Bangkok—the perfect place for last-minute shopping and incredible street food before you head home.
